Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) standard defines how to systematically provide provenance and history for digital media, enabling creators to claim authorship while empowering consumers to make informed decisions about what to trust. It focuses on tackling misinformation and disinformation by defining a model for storing and accessing cryptographically verifiable information whose trustworthiness can be assessed based on a defined trust model. This talk will summarize C2PA, the technical specifications, ongoing work by its technical workgroups, and the trust model underlying verifiable Content Credentials.
